Rockin' K Stable specializes in bringing together novice horse owners for a unique and affordable experience. Have you always dreamed of owning a horse, but thought you didn't have enough time, energy and money? Is that dream held back because acreages are so expensive, so you've decided it will never happen?
Guess what, there are a lot of people like you out there, that have never thought of horse-sharing. At Rockin' K Stable, we bring together like minded aspiring horse people who want to partially own or lease a horse. One horse can be owned or leased by one, two or more people, depending upon your circumstances. You share the cost of boarding, vet bills, shoeing etc, and also share in the care of your horse. If you decide you want to sell your share of the horse, Rockin' K will find someone to buy your share or will buy it from you. Rockin' K will also help you to find a suitable horse. Think of it as a matchmaker for horses and people.
In addition, as a new horse owner, Rockin' K will help teach you the basic skills needed for horse care. How to clean the hooves, groom, check for problems, schedules for vetting, worming etc. This could be a great starting point to let you "try on" horse ownership. Rockin' K is situated is the beautiful Cedar Valley, nestled in the bluffs East of Vinton. The stable is in a very horse friendly community on a picturesque gravel road along the Cedar River. Signs are posted for riders with many people riding locally on the 6 mile country block. Benton City Park is nearby, with the Pleasant Creek Equestrian Trail a 5 minute trailer ride away. This trail is 15 miles long, just perfect for the day trip. Camping is also available at Pleasant Creek. Matsell Bridge is another wonderful riding area, along the Wapsipinicon River with Equestian Camping available.
Rockin' K has a horse trailer for use - a 3 horse slant gooseneck with tack room with an accompanying pickup truck. Short trailering trips are not a problem and longer ones can be scheduled, so no need to own expensive equipment.
